Does anyone know why Taby cats loose there whiskers one at time but this doesn't happen all at once?

Hmmm. I've never heard of a cat losing it's whiskers. Do they lose them as new ones grow in, like humans might with hair sometimes?

Our guy occasionally looses a whisker. Sometimes, I think they get too long, and he's just so curious the fall off. Seriously, I know it hapens, but I don't know why. Good question.

If you cut a cat's whiskers, they become thrown off balance. Just thought I'd share that random bit of information.

Yeah, cutting a cat's whiskers is a very bad idea. They need those for balance, sense of direction, etc. Their whiskers provide as important information as do eyes, ears, or smell.

We once had a vet who told us that if a cat can pass its whiskers through an opening, he/she knew the opening was wide enough for him/her to pass through. Our cat Samantha had very long whiskers. The vet commented, "Well Samantha, you must think you are as wide as a greyhound bus." Ironically, she was very skinny.

It's just like us loosing say an eyelash. Completely normal. It happens al the time here. I have 3 indoor only cats. And just some odd info, the end of the cat whisper is way sharp. If you poke someone with it they all mad, lol.
